- TVS Racing participated in Valley Run for the first time
- Set a new record in the Indian Open Unrestricted Class
- Jagan Kumar and KY Ahamad piloted the drag-spec bikes
TVS Motor Company’s official motorsport team, TVS Racing participated in the Valley Run drag racing event for the first time this year. Interestingly, in its maiden participation, the team also set a new record with the drag-tuned version of the TVS Apache RR310supersport offering.
Held at the Aamby Valley airstrip in Pune, the event witnessed TVS Racing clinching the top two positions in the Indian Open Unrestricted Class (up to 390cc). Piloting the drag-spec Apache RR310 were TVS racers Jagan Kumar and K Y Ahamad who were the two fastest riders in the quarter mile run with timings of 11.523sec and 11.996sec, respectively. Notably, both these riders have won multiple circuit-racing national championships in their ongoing tenure with TVS Racing.
Now, talking about the motorcycle they competed on, the drag-spec Apache RR310 is substantially faster than the stock version, courtesy of multiple revisions. To give you a perspective, it makes nearly twice the power output of the road-going machine. And that is achieved by employing an electronic-controlled turbocharger along with titanium connecting rods, titanium valves, and lighter forged pistons. Also, there are a few carbon-fibre components for weight reduction and quick shifter and launch control for making it faster. Notably, this extended swingarm-equipped iteration of the Apache weighs 37per cent lesser than the stock trim.
