The upcoming TVS 300cc adventure bike was recently spotted testing in India. Although heavily camouflaged, the test mule revealed several details about the bike. In this article, we look at the top four things we noticed on the test prototype.
ADV Styling
The spy pictures reveal that the motorcycle will feature proper ADV styling with a tall windscreen, beak fender, and a large semi-fairing. The ADV also seems to get a big fuel tank although the tank capacity isn’t known yet. Then, we can also notice the large seats, which are a signature trait of adventure bikes. And although it’s too early to comment, the ergonomics look comfortable.
Road touring focus
The test mule was seen running on 19/17-inch alloy wheels, which is an easy giveaway that TVS could initially offer a road-biased adventure touring motorcycle. That said, our sources suggest that TVS is also expected to introduce an off-road-focused variant with 21/17-inch spoke wheels as an option. However, that version will be introduced later.
New 300cc engine
The TVS 300cc adventure bike will be powered by the new 299cc, RTX D4, single-cylinder motor that debuted at TVS MotoSoul 2024. This liquid-cooled engine produces 35bhp at 9,000rpm and a peak torque of 28.5Nm at 7,000rpm. It is linked to a six-speed gearbox that will benefit from an assist and slipper clutch. The engine will come with a ride-by-wire throttle system. So, we can expect it to get a traction control system as well as multiple ride modes.
Cycle parts
The TVS adventure bike will feature premium underpinnings and cycle parts. It will use a steel trellis frame that will be suspended on upside-down front forks and a rear monoshock. Meanwhile, braking duties will be handled by disc brakes at both ends.
Given the strong brand recall that the Apache nameplate enjoys, we believe TVS could name the upcoming adventure bike the Apache RTX 300. TVS has also trademarked the ‘Apache RTX’ name, which corroborates this belief as well. The motorcycle is expected to be launched in India in mid-2025.
