Representing India on a global platform, Aishwarya Pissay, 23, is all set to participate in the FIM Bajas World Cup in Dubai. It will be her second international event which will commence tomorrow with a ceremonial flag-off.
The Bengaluru-based rider is sponsored by TVS Racing, Mountain Dew, Scott Motorsports India and Big Rock Dirt Park. Pissay will be seen competing in the 450cc, women and junior categories, riding a non-TVS motorcycle.
Last year, Ashwariya participated in the Baja Aragon, but due to an unfortunate crash, she had to undergo a lengthy recovery period. However, in recent months, she has been training at the Big Rock track run by rider CS Santosh to get back in action. Besides that, she has also undergone additional training in the run up to tomorrow's event on the sand dunes of Dubai.
The FIM Bajas World Cup is an event that has attracted over 100 riders across 25 countries. The rally will begin on the 8 March with the first rider starting off at 06:45hrs for a 50kms liaison section. Post that, the riders will have the opening selective section of 201.60km, one hour later. The following day will have the second timed section spanning over 204.03km. Of the entire riding target of 607km, the riders will be timed against the clock for 407kms.
