New spy shots of the TVS Akula 310 spotted while undergoing dyno testing have been circulating on the internet. This is the second time the TVS Akula 310 has been spotted in its full glory, without any camouflage.
There aren't many alterations in design as compared to the original concept shown at 2016 Auto Expo. Tall clip-on handlebars and a slightly upright riding position should make it comfortable for commuting as well as touring. The Akula 310 borrows a few bits and pieces from the Apache range, like the switchgear, turn indicators, footpegs and the mirrors. However, the vertically stacked digital instrument cluster is new.
The Akula 310 is powered by the 313cc single-cylinder mill from the BMW G310 R, delivering 34bhp and 28Nm of torque through a six-speed gearbox. The Akula 310 gets on inverted front forks and a rear monoshock like the G310 R, and also gets the radially mounted front disc brake. It rides on Michelin Pilot Street radial tyres.
The TVS Akula 310 will be the company’s first fully-faired production motorcycle. Expected to go on sale in this quarter, the Akula 310 will share the market space with the likes of the Honda CBR 250R and the KTM RC200.
