The TVS Akula has been spotted undergoing benchmark testing in alongside the BMW G 310R and the Benelli TNT 300. Reports suggest that TVS will continue using the Apache brand name for the production version of the Akula, calling it Apache RR 310S.
The TVS Akula concept was unveiled at the 2016 Auto Expo, as a commemoration of 33 years of TVS Racing. The 310 hints at its relation to the BMW G310 R, upon which the Apache RR 310S is based. The production model has been tweaked to make it more production feasible. The front-end gets a twin headlamp setup with a tall windscreen. The tail section now gets a pillion seat while the race-spec exhaust has been ditched in favour of a conventional end can. The clip-on handlebars have also been raised to make it more comfortable for everyday use.
Under the skin of the Apache RR 310S is a 313cc single-cylinder engine. We expect it to be launched in the second half of 2017. The Apache RR 310S will compete against the KTM RC200 and the Honda CBR250R.
