In keeping with their tradition of having really long and confusing monikers, TVS is going to christen the Akula as Apache RR 310S. This was revealed through the trademark application filed by the company.
TVS first unveiled the Akula concept bike at the 2016 Auto Expo, commemorating 33 years of TVS Racing. Instead of going for a new moniker, TVS seems to have decided to continue using the Apache brand name for their first fully-faired motorcycle. The 310 hints at its relation to the BMW G310 R, upon which the Apache RR 310S is based.
While the Akula concept was a carbon fibre-clad track bike, recent spy shots show that the styling cues have been toned down for the production version to make it production feasible. Under the skin of the Apache RR 310S is a 313cc single-cylinder engine. We expect it to be launched in the second half of 2017. It will compete against the Honda CBR 250R and the KTM RC200.
