TVS Racing has launched a racing training academy for women riders. The manufacturer has tied up with Rajini Academy of Competitive Racing (RACR) to train women racers, who will race in the inaugural edition of the ‘TVS Ladies One-Make Series’.
The academy invites women riders across India over 13 years of age with an experience of at least two years to be part of the programme. Of these 25 women riders will be shortlisted and undergo a one-day training and selection camp in Bangalore on 24 May. The session would comprise of six theory sessions, practise sessions on the track and a three-lap race. On the basis of these, 15 successful candidates would be shortlisted to compete in the first edition of the TVS Ladies One-Make Series.
The training school has already commenced registrations and will use the TVS Apache RTR 200 as their training bike. The TVS Ladies One-Make Series will comprise of four races. The training and racing programme will be led by racers like ex-TVS Racing rider Rajini Krishnan, Jagan Kumar and Harry Sylvester among the other trainers from the RACR.
