TVS Motors has announced that its premium brand Apache has reached a sales figure of three million units. This figure is a global figure, and has taken the company around thirteen years to achieve.
The Apache range debuted in 2005 with the Apache 160 e-surge, which then was rebadged the RTR 160, for Racing Throttle Response. This spawned a 180cc variant, and the Apache RTR 180 was one of the first few motorcycles in its segment to offer ABS as an option. The 160 was one of the first to offer fuel injection in its segment. We're now into the second generation of Apache products, with the 160 4V and the 200 4V sporting 4-valve heads and monoshock rear suspension. The Apache RR310 tops off the current range, with a trellis frame, liquid cooling and quite a few first-in-class features.
Apache owners also have access to the Apache Racing Experience, where they are taught to exploit their bikes under the guidance of National Road Racing champions from TVS Racing. There is also the Apache Owners' Group, which has conducted rides in over 33 cities.
