- Features slipper and assist clutch for safer downshifting
- Is also available in a new colour option of Phantom Black
- Priced at a premium of around Rs 3000 over the standard model
TVS Motor Company has launched a new variant of its flagship motorcycle, the Apache RR310, in India. This model has been equipped with a slipper clutch while it has also received a new colour option of Phantom Black. In terms of pricing, this variant demands a premium of around Rs 3,000 over the standard model and costs Rs 2.27 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new clutch setup, which TVS refers to as ‘Race Tuned Slipper Clutch,’ aids in stability during aggressive downshifts by preventing the rear wheel from hopping. This proves to be a boon while going fast around corners. Moreover, TVS has also integrated Assist Function in the clutch assembly for making the clutch action smoother and effortless.
The TVS Apache RR310 is powered by a 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor with DOHC (Double Over Head Camshaft) which produces 33bhp and 27.3Nm of torque. This motor comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. The fully-faired bike rides on 17-inch wheels which are suspended by upside-down forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is taken care of by 300mm disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear while dual-channel ABS comes as standard.
Interestingly, the existing customers of the Apache RR310 can also get their motorcycles retrofitted with slipper clutch by paying Rs 3,940. Interested owners can approach select TVS Apache RR310 dealerships for the same. In terms of competition, the TVS Apache RR310 goes up against the KTM RC390, Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Benelli 302R.
