Yesterday, TVS announced its partnership with Petronas and introduced the Petronas TVS Racing Team. As a result of this conjunction, Petronas is now the title partner for TVS Racing and all the race bikes will don a new livery. We had a chance to be up close to the TVS Apache RR 310 One Make Race bike.
On the design front, the One Make Race bike only has marginally differences when compared to the road-going TVS Apache RR 310. It sports the Petronas livery consisting of white, red, black and blue colours all over.
The stock fairing makes way for custom-built ones, which are likely to be lighter. Not to mention, the belly pan looks identical to the stock but has a minor tweak to it.
In its stock setup, the RR310’s single-cylinder 312cc motor makes 25.8bhp and 25Nm. But with all the upgrades, the race bike is likely to dish out more power. It even gets a free-flow exhaust. The gearbox stays the same (6-speed).
For weight savings, the One Make Race bike’s console has been removed. Yes, no screens, nothing. Even the switchgear has been reduced to the minimum.
It’s suspended on the same USD forks as the standard bike and gets the same monoshock as well. Meanwhile, the braking setup has been altered as the Race Bike gets a different disc and likely different pads for more prowess.
The One Make Race bike is equipped with sticky TVS Protorq rubber. Last but not least, the footpegs and the clip-on handlebars too have been replaced with more purposeful ones.
