TVS has upgraded its flagship offering, the Apache RR310 for 2019 in India. The company has attempted to fix the chinks in its armour in order to make the supersport a more desirable product. Besides the introduction of a new Phantom Black colour, there are a few updates made to the motorcycle and this picture gallery details all those changes.
Although the RR310 already carries an aggressive design, the glossy Phantom Black shade makes it look further combative. This new colour option has replaced the previous matte Black shade.
Except for the new colour scheme, the motorcycle has retained the earlier design with the dual LED projector headlamps, aerodynamic fairing, sculpted fuel tank and the upswept tail housing horn-shaped LED lamps.
A major upgrade comes in the form of a ‘Race Tune Slipper Clutch’ with assist function which prevents the rear wheel from hopping during aggressive down shifts, especially while entering fast in corners.
TVS has also worked on reducing the vibrations in the Apache RR310. The company has integrated bigger handlebar end weights which, besides reducing vibrations, aid in stability while riding.
The motorcycle now also gets rubber mounts inside the windscreen, above the instrument cluster assembly, which is yet another means to curb vibrations.
The Apache RR310 continues to be powered by a 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor which belts out 33bhp of power and 273Nm of torque.
Underpinned by a trellis frame, the bike is suspended by KYB upside-down forks at the front and preload adjustable monoshock at the rear.
Stopping power on the RR310 comes from a 300cc disc at the front and a 240mm disc at the rear while dual-channel ABS comes as standard.
After receiving all the upgrades, the TVS Apache RR310 now demands a premium of around Rs 3000 over the non-slipper clutch model. It carries a sticker price of Rs 2.27 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi).
