- RTR 160 4V ABS now on sale
- ABS is only available with the fuel-injected version as of now
- Competes against CB Hornet 160R, Gixxer
TVS has introduced the ABS variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V in India. The bike is now equipped with single-channel ABS and has been priced at Rs 98,644 (ex-showroom Pune).
Interestingly, the company has only launched the fuel-injected ABS variant for now. The carburettor variant will be launched in the next few weeks. With this pricing, the ABS variant is Rs 6999 more expensive than the non-ABS model. We are expecting a price hike of around Rs 5000 for the carburettor model.
The 159cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine makes 16.6bhp with fuel-injection and 16.2bhp with carburetion. Torque is the same for both versions at 14.8Nm. The motor gets a four-valve head and is mated to a five-speed gearbox. TVS's signature exhaust note remains with the 160. A rear disc brake comes as an option for the carb version, and standard for the FI version. There are different rear tyre sizes, depending on whether you opt for the carb (110mm width) or FI (130mm width) variant.
The Apache RTR 160 4V competes against the Honda CB Hornet 160R, Yamaha FZ V3.0 and the Suzuki Gixxer.
