TVS Motor Company has increased the prices of the new BS6-compliant versions of the Apache RTR 160 4V and Apache RTR 200 4V in India. Both bikes had received BS6-bound changes and other updates in November last year. These revisions had resulted in a considerable price hike over their BS4 models and now, the prices have gone up further.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V BS6 has become Rs 2,500 more expensive and costs Rs 127,500 now. As for its smaller sibling, the Apache RTR 160 4V BS6 comes in drum and disc brake variants which are now dearer by Rs 2,000. Following the price hike, the former is priced at Rs 102,950 while the latter is available at Rs 106,000 (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
The new Apache RTR 200 4V and RTR 160 4V not only feature a BS6-compliant engine now, but also sport a refreshed styling with a more radical-looking front fascia. Both bikes also incorporate LED headlamps and GTT (Glide Through Traffic) function which makes riding in traffic much easier. Interestingly, the larger sibling also gets TVS’ Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect instrument cluster which displays a host of information and pairs with the rider’s smartphone.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V faces stiff competition from the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 and Hero Xtreme 200R. Meanwhile, the Apache RTR 160 4V goes up against the Yamaha FZ V3, Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Gixxer and Honda Hornet 160R.
