- Boasts an all-black visual theme
- Mechanically the same as the standard variant
TVS Motor Company has launched the new Black edition of the Apache RTR 160 4V in India. Priced at Rs. 1.25 lakh (ex-showroom), this is a visually different version of the standard RTR 160 4V while remaining mechanically the same.
As the name suggests, the new version maintains an all-black theme across its bodywork and cycle parts which lends it a stealthy visual appeal. It boasts a clean look with the absence of any graphics on its body panels, barring the black TVS logo embossed on the tank along with ‘Apache’ and ‘RTR 160 4V’ stickers on the side panels and tail, respectively. Apart from these visual changes, the Apache RTR 160 4V Black edition remains the same as the most affordable trim of the bike which misses out on a rear disc brake and Bluetooth connectivity.
It is one of the most loaded offerings in its class on the feature front with three riding modes, a digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity (for select variants), LED headlamp and tail lamp, and Glide Through Technology (GTT). Powering the bike is a 159.7cc, oil-cooled engine that produces 17.31bhp and 14.73Nm and comes mated to a five-speed gearbox. The motorcycle is quite light with a kerb weight of 144kg and it boasts a fuel tank capacity of 12 litres.
