The Apache RTR 160 4V recently received a BS6 update along with the Apache RTR 200 4V and the Jupiter Classic. And apart from a BS6-compliant engine, the smaller Apache gets a host of other updates. Here is a list of what’s new in the motorcycle.
Pricing
TVS is offering the BS6 Apache RTR 160 4V in two variants- drum and disc. While the drum version costs Rs 99,950, the disc variant of the RTR 160 4V comes with a Rs 1.03 lakh price tag. Now as compared to the BS4 models, the motorcycles demand a premium of around Rs 8,000 each.
Retuned, BS6-compliant engine
The motorcycle comes powered by a 159.7cc, single-cylinder engine which now gets fuel-injection as standard. This ‘Race Tuned Fuel-Injection’ or RT-Fi is claimed to improve engine durability as well as for better emission control.
The Apache RTR 160 4V’s motor churns our 15.8bhp of power at 8250rpm and 14.2Nm of peak torque at 7250rpm. It continues to comes mated to a five-speed gearbox.
Additional features
TVS has equipped the Apache RTR 160 4V with a first-in-class feature called the GTT (Glide Through Traffic) for a smooth low-speed ride. The motorcycle also comes with a one-touch start and a wave bite ignition key.
Refreshed styling
The most striking visual difference on the BS6 Apache RTR 160 4V is at the front. It sports a new headlamp unit that is sharper and much more angular than the previous model. Moreover, the headlamp features all-LED lighting along with a pair of redesigned LED DRLs. In addition to that, TVS has also given the motorcycle subtle new graphics on the fuel tank along with a two-tone seat.
