TVS Motor Company has given another upgrade to its 160cc roadster motorcycle, the Apache RTR 160 4V. The latest iteration of the Apache RTR 160 4V gets several updates and here we tell you what’s new on the motorcycle and how better is it than before.
Styling
The Apache RTR 160 4V retains the styling of the previous model, although it now features a revised front fascia that uses a new headlight design. The headlight is still an LED unit, however, TVS Motor Company has replaced the twin LED DRLs setup with a single unit that is now integrated into the headlight. The new setup looks far subtle and appealing than the previous motorcycle.
The standard variants of the Apache RTR 160 4V are available in three colour choices – Knight Black, Metallic Blue, and Racing Red. The Special Edition of the motorcycle, on the other hand, is available in a single paint option. It gets a Matte Black colour with red alloy wheels, and a new seat pattern. This edition also benefits from adjustable clutch and brake levers.
The build quality remains similar to the old model. Thus, the paint finish looks and feels good while the 3D logo and the chequered flag decals on the fuel tank further enhance the premium looks of the Apache RTR 160 4V. The sporty pillion grabrail and the dual-tone seat cover look stylish and well put together. The Special Edition looks more appealing and it is worth the premium price tag over the standard motorcycle.
Features
TVS Motor Company has added riding modes to the Apache RTR 160 4V. All variants of the Apache RTR 160 4V get three modes (Urban, Sport and Rain) that alter power output, throttle response, and ABS intervention. The 159.7cc, single-cylinder, air/oil-cooled, four-valve engine makes 17.31bhp and 14.73Nm in Sport mode. The output numbers are brought down to 15.42bhp and 14.14Nm in Urban and Rain modes.
The updated range, with the exception of the base model, gets a radial rear tyre. The changes to the instrument cluster across the range include the addition of a gear shift indicator. The top-end variant of the Apache RTR 160 4V and the Special Edition further benefit from the TVS SmartXonnect Bluetooth connectivity system.
