TVS has finally launched the highly anticipated Apache 200 RTR 4V in the Indian market. This new flagship model will be positioned above the Apache RTR 180, locking horns with the Bajaj Pulsar 220F and the Pulsar AS200. While the slew of spy shots had already given us a faint picture of what the bike was going to look like, here is a detailed photo gallery of the motorcycle -
The front gets a refreshing new design, with the absence of a bikini visor giving it an offbeat look. The headlamp integrates all-day on LED DRLs.
The muscular extensions seem like an evolution of the tank scoops on the current Apache, and should offer a good support for the rider's thighs.
The rear is a big departure from the current Apache’s design. The tail lamp assembly get an all-new design, and integrates LED units.
The rear section of the Apache TRT 200 4V gets a fairly raised step-seat, split grab rails and pseudo air vents to boost its racy appeal.
The exhaust gets a very interesting double barrel design. While this not only looks radical, but also improves the emission figures of the bike.
The front 17-inch wheel rides on conventional 37mm telescopic forks. The alloy wheel design has been borrowed from the Draken X21 concept.
The swingarm is linked to floating piston monoshock, sourced from Japanese component manufacturer – KYB. It doesn’t get preload adjustability.
Stopping power is offered by 270mm petal disc at the front and a 240mm petal disc in the rear. An ABS version is expected to follow in the next three months.
The rear set footpegs, clip-on handlebars and the muscular fuel tank offer a racy riding position to match the motorcycle’s character.
The double cradle chassis encloses a 198cc single-cylinder oil-cooled engine. The engine is available in two versions – carburetted and fuel-injected.
While the show bike came with sticky Pirelli radials, TVS will start offering these optional extras for the carburetted version at a later date.
While the carburetted version has been priced at Rs 88,990, the fuel-injected bike will retail at Rs 1.08 lakh. Deliveries of the latter will commence in three months.
