TVS Motors will launch the latest Apache RTR 200 4V motorcycle in Nepal by April this year. The latest version of the motorcycle will be sold through Jagdamba Motors, which is TVS Motors' distributor in Nepal.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 4V is powered by a single-cylinder 197.75 cc air-cooled motor with SOHC, four-valves and an oil-cooler. This engine produces 20.5bhp of power at 8,500rpm in the carbureted version and 21bhp of power at 8,500 rpm in the fuel-injected variant. The torque figures remain the same at 18.1Nm at 7,000 rpm in both the variants that come mated to a five-speed gearbox.
According to reports, the Apache will only be offered as the FI variant in Nepal. ABS with RLP (Rear wheel Lift-off Protection) might be offered as standard on this trim. The Nepali market will also get the option of TVS Remora and Pirelli tyres.
The TVS Apache RTR 200 was launched in India last year. It has largely borrowed styling elements from the Draken-X21 concept that was first showcased at the 2014 Auto Expo. Once launched in Nepal, the much-awaited product will compete with the presently sold Bajaj Pulsar 200NS and KTM Duke 200. Let's hope the Apache RTR 200 4V is priced at a competitive price in Nepal for it compete fiercely in the naked segment of motorcycles.
