TVS has finally launched its most powerful and latest naked motorcycle offering, the Apache RTR 310 in India. It’s based on the existing Apache RR 310 and here’s what the bike offers.
What are the design cues of the new TVS Apache RTR 310?
As seen in the test mule spy shots, the production form of the Apache RTR 310 looks aggressive and sporty. It sports a brand-new design comprising split LED headlights, a sharp fuel tank with shrouds, a two-piece seat, and a raised tail section. The exhaust seems to be directly borrowed from the Apache RR 310. It gets a single-piece tubular handlebar and slightly rear-set footpegs. However, the rider triangle seems upright and engaging.
Does the new Apache RTR 310 get the same engine as its faired sibling?
Yes, TVS has used the same 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor for the Apache RTR 310, as it does for the RR 310. The motor dishes out 35bhp at 9700rpm and 28.7Nm at 6650rpm and is linked to a six-speed gearbox. It benefits from a slipper-and-assist clutch too. The claimed top speed is 150kmph.
What’s the hardware setup like on the latest Apache?
TVS has equipped the new Apache RTR 310 with a revised frame. It’s suspended on USD front forks and a monoshock and both sides get adjustments for preload, compression and rebound. Meanwhile, the braking hardware comprises a single front disc and a single rear disc with dual-channel ABS. The brakes are mounted on 17-inch wheels wrapped in dual compound radial tyres.
Has TVS equipped the Apache RTR 310 with a lot of features?
Along with full LED illumination, the new Apache gets a fully digital TFT with ability to connect GoPro. It comprises all the basic readouts like the speedometer, odometer, trip meter, fuel level indicator, gear position indicator, and temperature, and gets smartphone connectivity as well. The latter gives the rider access to call and SMS notifications, as well as document storage and more. For the rider aids, the Apache RTR 310 also gets ABS, side stand cut-off and ride modes. Interestingly, this bike also comes with climate control seat and also six-axis IMU unit to take care of cornering ABS, cornering traction control and also cornering cruise control. The bike is also equipped with tyre pressure monitoring system and bi-directional quickshifter.

The asking price for the TVS Apache RTR 310 is Rs. 2.43 lakh(ex-showroom, Delhi). It rivals the KTM 390 Duke, BMW G 310 R and the KTM 250 Duke as well. For reference, KTM is set to launch the latest generation of the 390 Duke very soon.
