- Features sporty and aggressive styling
- Will get a fully digital console
- Rides on upside-down front forks and a monoshock
The upcoming TVS Apache RTR 310 has been spotted testing once again. The latest test mule seems production ready and could be launched soon since TVS has sent out invitations for a launch that is scheduled for 6 September.
TVS has gone for a youthful and sharp design approach for its latest streetfighter motorcycle. Its headlight, tank shrouds, radiator covers, rear side panels, and overall cues hint at a sporty motorcycle. Although camouflaged, it is evident that the RTR 310 does not bare any similarities with the BMW G 310 R. Unlike the conventional rear body integrated setup, TVS has opted for a separate side-mounted tail that consists of the turn indicators and the number plate holder above the rear tyre hugger. The upswept exhaust on this test bike appears similar to the one we see on the current faired Apache.
The RTR 310 will borrow the engine from the Apache RR 310. It is a 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine and delivers 33.5bhp at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm at 7,700rpm. The motor is linked to a six-speed gearbox.
Features like LED illumination and a fully digital TFT with smartphone connectivity are also expected. The spy images reveal a twin-pod LED tail light on the RTR 310 test bike. As for the hardware, the TVS Apache RTR 310 will ride on USD front forks, and a monoshock and get a single front and rear disc with dual-channel ABS. It will be equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in road-biased tyres. The rider triangle seems to be a mix of sporty and practical as there is a wide, single-piece tubular handlebar and rear set footpegs. That said, the pillion seat seems small in these spy shots.
We expect TVS to price the new Apache RTR 310 at around Rs. 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom). For reference, the RR 310 costs Rs. 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Once launched, it will rival the KTM 390 Duke which is also set to be launched in an updated version, BMW G 310 R, Bajaj Dominar 400, Honda CB300R, and QJ Motor SRK 400. Moreover, the new Apache will mark itself as the most powerful naked TVS motorcycle.
