- The competition was open for design students across the country

TVS Motor Company today concluded the inaugural edition of the Ntorq 125 Call of Design contest. This first-of-a-kind design competition witnessed students of various design institute creating their own ‘race edition’ of the Ntorq 125 scooter. After five months and two rounds, Evanka Thimmaiah from Strate School of Design, Bengaluru took the crown amidst six finalists for her rendition and also rode home a brand new Ntorq 125.
Meanwhile, Anoop Nellikalayil from National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar won the first runner up award along with a cash prize of Rs 30,000. Sharing the second runner up trophy were Siddharth Sangwan from IDC, IIT, Bombay, and Sachin Singh Tensing from National Institute of Design, Gandhinagar. Both received a cash prize of Rs 20,000 each. Apart from that, there was also a viewer’s choice award which was won by Rajat Kushwaha for garnering maximum votes in an online poll.
Kick started in August, the Call of Design competition was held in two phases. In the first leg, students along with auto journalists were invited to create a 2D rendering of the Ntorq Race Edition. The top six shortlisted students from more than 300 entries were then provided with a Ntorq scooter at their respective institutes to recreate their own 2D design on an actual product. The jury then decided the winner through various parameters.
On the other hand, of the entries submitted by the automobile media fraternity, the top three winners of the contest include Akshay Chitwar from Powerdrift, Shoeb Kalania from IndianAutosBlog, and BikeWale’s very own Bilal Firfiray.
