TVS Motor Company has recorded a sales growth of 20 per cent in August 2016. The company clocked this record with total sales increasing from 2,27,653 units recorded in the month of August 2015 to 2,74,303 units in August 2016.
According to the company, total two-wheeler sales increased by 23.5 per cent from 2,16,781 units recorded in August 2015 to 2,67,670 units in August 2016. Domestic two-wheeler sales grew by 30.1 per cent increasing from 1,83,653 units in August 2015 to 2,38,984 units in August 2016.
Scooter sales grew by 5.1 per cent from 72,865 units in August 2015 to 76,572 units in August 2016. Motorcycle sales grew by 31.2 per cent increasing from 87,044 units in the month of August 2015 to 1,14,195 units in August 2016.
In terms of exports, two-wheeler exports registered sales of 28,686 units in August 2016 as against 33,128 units in August 2015. The most popular domesticmodel for the manufacturer is the XL Super Moped selling around 70,000 units each month. Taking the second spot and top spot in the company's scooter line up is the Jupiter with sales of around 45,000 units each month. The Apache range sales hover between 20,000 and 30,000 units each month.
