After a long time, we have managed to see a TVS bike being tested in the country. The camouflaged bike was being tested on the Chennai-Bangalore highway, which carries many design cues from the Phoenix 125cc.
Looking at the pictures, we have come to two conclusions. Either TVS is developing a 150cc version of the Phoenix brand or it’s just a facelift for the Phoenix 125 that is being sold in India since the last 2 years. Most of the components seen on the spied bike like the headlamp, tail lamp, exhaust, front and rear suspensions, grab rail and rear view mirrors are the ones used on the Phoenix 125. Adding a 150cc version also makes sense as currently, the company is present in 100cc and 125cc segment. It might be surely trying to fill its void in the 150cc segment, as it brings considerate amount of sales.
Few days ago, TVS confirmed that it will launch new models of the Apache next year, but didn’t mention anything about the mass market segment. We are sure the company is silently working on adding new executive commuter motorcycles to its portfolio to compete with the biggies like Hero MotoCorp, Honda and Bajaj.
