TVS has concluded the first round of its 2017 One Make championship. The round was held between June 9 and June 11 at the Kari Motor Speedway in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu.
The Round 1 of One Make championship consisted of four classes, with all racers competing on race-spec TVS Apache RTR 200 motorcycles. While the Novice and Open class consisted of two races each, the Ladies and Media category had one race each. However, the Media race was called off due to rains. The Novice class was dominated by Peddu Sri Harsha who won both races, while Shankar Guru came second in both. Anup Kumar finished third in Race 1, while Alexander AS occupied the spot in Race 2. Race 1 was a ten lap race while Race 2 was shortened to six laps due to the rains.
In the Open category, Yashas RL occupied the top spot in Race 1, followed by Prabhu V and Yuvaraj S. Race 2 witnessed a shuffle in rankings, with Sivanesan S occupying the top slot and Kamran Dubash coming third. Prabhu V retained the second spot on the podium. Both these races were conducted over 10 laps. The inaugural race of TVS Ladies One Make championship was won by Aishwarya PM, followed by Soundari A and Kokila Shankar. The race was run over eight laps.
The next round of TVS One Make championship will be hosted at the MMRT race track in Irungattukottai, Chennai, between July 9 and July 11.
