The next-generation TVS Apache RTR 160 has once again been spotted testing in Tamil Nadu. The premium commuter looks exactly like the Apache RTR 200 4V, although the rear drum brake gives away its true identity.
Given that the Apache RTR 160 sports the same styling and bodywork as its bigger sibling, the test mule didn’t feature any camouflage. It gets the same sculpted fuel tank, edgy headlamp, raised tail section and the exhaust canister. The alloy wheel design, however, is different. It also gets a single-piece seat in place of the Apache RTR 200 4V’s step seats. The test mule was spotted running on TVS Remora tyres.
The current Apache RTR 160 is in its second generations and still enjoys a good demand in specific parts of the country, despite being quite long in the tooth. The generation update should further boost its sales. We can also expect the motorcycle to be launched in a 180cc variant. The Apache RTR 160 will compete against the Bajaj Pulsar NS160, Suzuki Gixxer, Honda Hornet 160R and the FZ-S FI.
