- TVS teases its upcoming electric scooter on its social media channel
- Was recently spied testing in Hosur, Tamil Nadu
- Will be officially launched on 25 January
After being spied testing recently around Hosur in Tamil Nadu, TVS’ upcoming electric scooter has now been teased on the company’s social media channel. The electric scooter will be officially launched on 25 January in India.
The teaser video shows a wall-mounted charging setup while the electric scooter passes by. The fast fly-by doesn’t reveal much about the design of the scooter. However, a blur snapshot indicates that it will certainly feature a more family-oriented design with large body panels. To match up with the trend, it will also get modern features such a large fully-digital instrument cluster, as we had observed in the spy video. Other modern elements such as Bluetooth-connectivity and full-LED lighting could also be on offer.
The e-scooter is likely to be based on the TVS Creon concept which was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo. However, unlike the high-spec battery and motor on the Creon, the upcoming production model will boast of more realistic specifications. Expect it be powered by a single lithium-ion battery capable of producing around 4kWh while the battery range could be around 80-100km. As we had noticed in the spy video, it will get telescopic suspension up front along with a disc brake.
With this electric scooter, TVS will aim to compete against the segment benchmark Ather 450 and the recently-launched Bajaj Chetak electric.
