TVS recently launched the iQube electric scooter in India. The iQube is the Hosur-based manufacturer’s first electric offering in the country and is equipped with an array of features. Here we list down the top five things you need to know about the TVS iQube.
Pricing
TVS has pegged the iQube at Rs 1.15 lakhs (on-road). This pricing puts it right on par with its biggest rivals, the Ather 450 (Rs 1.13 lakhs, on-road) and the Bajaj Chetak (Rs 1.15 lakhs, ex-showroom Bangalore).
Availability
The iQube is currently only available in Bangalore, a city with commendable EV infrastructure. Nevertheless, TVS will introduce the scooter in other cities in a phased manner. Interested customers can book the iQube through select dealerships across the city as well as online for a token amount of Rs 5,000.
Powertrain
With pricing out of the way, let’s get down to numbers. The TVS iQube uses a 4.4kW electric motor that can propel the scooter to a top speed of 78kmph. The power can be modulated using the two riding modes- Economy and Power. After having fully-charged the 2.25kWh lithium-ion battery via the 5A standard charger, the iQube is capable of delivering a range of 75kms
Features
TVS has equipped the iQube electric scooter with an array of features like a fully-digital, Bluetooth enabled instrument cluster with day and night feature. The display has geo-fencing, navigation assist, over-speeding alert, last park location along with call and text notification alerts. Moreover, the iQube comes with a parking assist function called ‘Q-Park’.
Cycle Parts
The TVS iQube rides on telescopic forks at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear with attractive alloys on both ends. Braking is taken care of by a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
