- TVS’ overall two-wheeler sales decline
- Scooter sales grow by 14 per cent
TVS Motor Company released the sales data for December 2022 which shows an upward trajectory for its electric scooter, the iQube, despite the decrement in its overall two-wheeler sales. Garnering 11,071 takers last month, the e-scooter registered its highest-ever monthly sales since its launch in January 2020. The year-on-year sales also witnessed a substantial rise, skyrocketing from 1,212 units in the same month of 2021.
On the contrary, TVS’ overall two-wheeler sales went marginally down from 2,35,392 units in December 2021 to 2,27,666 units in December 2022. This was mainly due to the significant decline in the company’s exports. The domestic sales, meanwhile, soared from 1,46,763 units in December 2021 to 1,61,369 units in the same month last year. Scooter sales, in particular, grew by 14 per cent as opposed to the downfall in motorcycle sales.
As for the latest development at TVS, the brand’s flagship offering Apache RR310 was recently introduced in Asphalt 8: Airborne, which is one of the globally popular motor racing games by Gameloft. This makes TVS the first Indian two-wheeler brand to bring the virtual racing experience of its motorcycle.
