TVS Motor Company seems to be bullish about its future in the electric vehicle space. In a recent report, the Hosur-based company revealed that the iQube electric scooter will be available in 1,000 dealerships across major towns and cities in India by March 2022.
Currently, the TVS iQube is available in four cities- Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Delhi, and Coimbatore. It is priced at Rs 1 lakh in Delhi and around Rs 1.11 lakh (ex-showroom), in the other cities. The electric scooter goes head-on against the Bajaj Chetak and the Ather 450X in the country and offers decent features that put it on par with the competition.
The scooter uses a 4.4kW hub-mounted motor which produces 140Nm of torque and draws its energy from a 2.25kWh battery pack. TVS claims that the iQube is capable of hitting a top speed of 78kmph and offers a range of 75kms.
