TVS has updated its product portfolio with the launch of the latest generation of the Jupiter 110 scooter. It has been refreshed on quite a few fronts and the asking price now starts at Rs. 73,700 for the base model and goes to Rs. 87,250 for the top-spec trim (both, ex-showroom Delhi). However, the said price range also has other two-wheeler offerings that you should have a look at.
The first alternative on the list is the Honda Activa 6G, retailing at Rs. 82,684 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec H-smart variant. The Honda Activa has been a household favourite for years and ranked as one of the top-selling scooters. The Activa 6G comes with a trusty 109cc single-cylinder engine that makes 7.73bhp and 8.90Nm. It features an LED headlight, a silent starter, a dual-function switch to open the seat, the fuel lid, and keyless operation. The Activa 6G’s motor is known to be smooth, reliable, and frugal.
The mix also has a couple of motorcycles including the Splendor Plus. Just like the Activa 6G in the scooter market, the Hero Splendor Plus has been a popular choice and the highest-selling product in the motorcycle market. Its design has evolved gradually over the years including the addition of new features. However, the core aspect of utility and reliability has been retained for decades. The Splendor Plus packs a 97.2cc, air-cooled engine and it makes 7.91bhp at 8,000rpm and 8.05Nm at 6,000rpm. The engine is linked to a four-speed gearbox. The asking price for the top-spec Hero Splendor Plus is set at Rs. 78,286 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
The Honda Shine is another high-selling motorcycle and for the right reasons. It sticks to the rudimentary aspects like affordability, usability, and a simple build. The Shine’s design has remained largely unchanged and it packs a 123cc single-cylinder engine belting out 10.59bhp and 11Nm. it is linked to a five-speed gearbox. The Honda Shine rides on telescopic front forks and dual rear springs while the braking hardware comprises a front and rear drum as well as a front disc with a rear drum brake setup. The asking price for the Honda Shine Disc is set at Rs. 84,250 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
Apart from the Activa 6G, you can also opt for the Honda Activa 125 in the price bracket. It costs Rs. 89,429 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the top-spec H-Smart model that gets the keyless operation feature along with silent start, and more. Powering the Honda Activa 125 is a 124cc single-cylinder motor that dishes out 8.19bhp and 10.4Nm. The Activa 125 too offers a reliable and frugal motor packed in purposeful bodywork.
Lastly, the Yamaha Fascino 125 is another alternative to check out and it is priced at Rs. 94,830 (ex-showroom, Delhi) for the special edition model. It gets smartphone connectivity, a side-stand engine cut-off, and LED illumination. Powering the Yamaha Fascino 125 is a 125cc air-cooled motor developing 8.04bhp and 10.03Nm. The Fascino gets a curvy and retro design which makes it stand out from the ordinary, but may not be to everyone’s liking.
