- TVS Scooty and Jupiter scooters get expensive
- Highest price bump received by the Scooty Pep Plus matte edition
- Least price hike recorded for the Jupiter sheet metal trim
TVS Motor Company has hiked the prices of its Jupiter and Scooty (Zest and Pep Plus) models in India. Notably, a lot of major brands have increased the prices of their products from 1 April, 2021. TVS’ price increment for its scooters ranges from Rs 940 for the Jupiter sheet metal variant and it goes up to Rs 2,535 for the Scooty Pep Plus matte edition. The latest variant-wise prices (ex-showroom, Delhi) of the scooters and the amount of hike they have received are mentioned in the below table.
With their lean dimensions and light weight, the TVS Scooty Pep Plus and the Scooty Zest 110 are mainly targeted at women riders. While the former is the smaller and lighter 87.8cc scooter, the latter is the larger 109.7cc machine that delivers more performance. Both of them weigh under 100kgs (kerb) that makes them extremely easy to move around and manoeuvre in traffic.
Now, the TVS Jupiter is a rugged and versatile family scooter that mainly competes against the Honda Activa 6G. It is powered by the same 109.7 engine as the Zest 110 but the power figures are different. It also rides on larger 12-inch wheels at both ends, weighs more at 109kg and gets a larger fuel tank of 6 litres. As can be seen in the table above, it is available in multiple variants like sheet metal wheel, alloy wheel and the retro-inspired Classic version.
