- TVS Jupiter BS6 is 1kg heavier than BS4 model

TVS Motor Company has revealed the specifications of the BS6 Jupiter. To begin with, the most important change is the 109cc, engine which now gets fuel-injection.
This motor produces 7.3bhp at 7,000rpm; a slight decrease of 0.5bhp from the BS4 model. However, the Jupiter’s peak torque remains the same 8.4Nm at 5500rpm. Furthermore, TVS has increased the BS6 Jupiter’s fuel-tank from 5-litres to 6-litres. The battery has also been moved from under the seat to the front apron, giving the Jupiter a 21-litre underseat storage; up from 17-litres.
Apart from this, the scooter also sports an LED headlamp. TVS is offering the Jupiter in three variants- standard, ZX and Classic. While the basic variant costs Rs 61,449 the ZX and Classic versions are priced at Rs 63,449 and Rs 67,911 each. (all prices, ex-showroom). All three variants are currently available with a drum brake setup. However, we expect TVS to introduce the Jupiter Classic with a disc brake soon. Bookings for the BS6 Jupiter have commenced across the country with deliveries expected to take place soon.
