TVS is going to launch a new disc brake variant of their popular 110cc scooter, the Jupiter. With a price tag of Rs 56,244 (ex-showroom, Pune), the disc brake variant will be around Rs 4,000 more expensive than the standard Jupiter.
The disc brake setup for this variant has been borrowed from the TVS Wego. As both the scooters use a similar 12-inch front wheel, the 220mm disc brake would be a straight fit for the Jupiter. The disc brake is a viable optional extra for a scooter like the Jupiter, as besides offering better stopping power it would also help up the premium quotient of the scooter. Apart from the addition of a disc brake, this version will also be available in a unique purple paint scheme.
The elegant styling, delightful performance and fuel economy and the features list have helped the TVS Jupiter claim the crown of the second highest selling scooter in the country. With the addition of the disc brake variant, TVS has now widened its customer base. The TVS Jupiter competes with other 110cc scooters like the Hero Maestro Edge, Mahindra Gusto, Suzuki Let’s, Yamaha Ray-Z and king of the segment – the Honda Activa 3G.
