TVS is on a roll. After launching its most awaited Apache RR 310 late last year, it introduced two more products, the NTorq 125 and the recent Apache RTR 160. It looks like the company isn’t stopping there. A fuel-injected version of the Jupiter was spied inside the company’s test track.
This makes us believe that TVS is readying this scooter for the BS-VI roll out which will happen in 2020. BS-VI demands stringent pollution control, so majority of the manufacturers will switch to fuel-injection from carburettor.
The spied scooter didn’t wear any disguise clothes. The prototype had a ‘Fi’ sticker on the front panel. The manual choke button has been removed and there’s a sync braking system sticker on the front mudguard too. It looks like TVS is yet to launch its fully-loaded Jupiter variant and that would happen as we get close to 2020.
We’re expecting the Jupiter fuel-injected variant to see a price rise of Rs 3000 to Rs 5000 at the time of launch. We believe TVS will launch this version sometime next year and sell it alongside other variants.
