- TVS Jupiter receives the automatic start-stop function
- Introduced only in the ZX disc variant
- Price remains the same at Rs 72,347 (ex-showroom, Delhi)
TVS Motor Company has introduced the new ‘intelliGO’ technology in its 110cc scooter, the Jupiter. This feature shuts off the engine when left idle for a few seconds while a slight twist of the throttle brings the engine back to life. The same tech is already present in two-wheelers from brands like Hero and Honda. Its main advantage is savings in fuel consumption, especially during brief stops at traffic signals.
For now, only the ZX disc variant of the TVS Jupiter has received the ‘intelliGO’ feature. Despite this update, the price of the scooter has remained unchanged at Rs 72,347 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It is available in two colour options – Starlight Blue and Royal Wine. Notably, this update has made the Jupiter the only 110cc scooter in India to incorporate the automatic start-stop function.
Besides the introduction of this feature, the TVS Jupiter remains unaltered in all other aspects. It is powered by a 109.7cc, air-cooled engine which comes mated to a CVT gearbox. It produces 7.3bhp of power at 7,000rpm and 8.4Nm of peak torque at 5,500rpm. It rides on 12-inch wheels at both ends with telescopic forks and a monoshock. While braking is handled by a drum at both ends with a front disc available as an option.
In the 110cc scooter category, the TVS Jupiter goes up against the Honda Activa 6G and the Hero Maestro Edge 110.
