TVS has launched a new smartphone application called ‘iRide’ for its customers. This application is currently available only for Android users on the Google Play Store.
Other than booking service appointments, the iRide application can be used for recording ride activities like checking for trip metres, top speed. The app can detect vehicle movement and prevent calls and messages from coming through until the vehicle is stopped. The app also stores the parking location of the TVS bike, allowing the rider to navigate to the location in a crowded parking space.
The app also shows TVS service centres across the country. Other places like ATM, hospitals and petrol stations can also be located via the iRide app. The app features a ‘My Mechanic’ section that lists basic bike problems and how to fix them. The first-aid guide section talks about the things to do in case of a fracture, seizure or bleeding. In order to use all these features, the rider needs to register himself either through the Facebook plugin or TVS’s registration process. Registering via Facebook is easier because the latter takes a lot of time, especially at the ‘date of birth’ section.
