- Gets a special edition paint scheme
- Features handlebar guards, calliper protectors, and more
- India launch unlikely
TVS has launched a new variant of the Raider 125 in Colombia. It’s dubbed the Raider Racing Special Edition and features a bunch of updates on the cosmetic and mechanical aspects.
While the bike retains the design from the standard model, it comes draped in a California Grey paint scheme. The fuel tank, part front fender, and the headlight cowl are painted white, whereas the rear side panels and those below the fuel tank extensions are covered in grey. The red-coloured wheels add a nice contrast to the overall theme. TVS has also added handlebar guards, an engine crash guard, and calliper protectors for added safety alongside a phone holder.
The Raider Racing Special Edition is powered by the same 124.79cc single-cylinder engine that’s linked to a five-speed gearbox. But this model makes 12.5bhp and 11.5Nm, which is 1.3bhp and 0.3Nm more than the Indian model. Apart from that, there are no mechanical changes to the motor.
It also features the same TFT console with smartphone connectivity via Bluetooth. The setup houses a speedometer, trip meter, odometer, fuel level readout, gear position indicator, and a tachometer as well. Its hardware remains largely unaltered as the Racing Edition sports the same telescopic front forks and a monoshock alongside the front disc and rear drum brake.
The TVS Raider Racing Special Edition is priced at COP 81,199,999 (approximately Rs. 1.51 lakh sans taxes) in Colombia. For reference, the Raider SX is the top-spec variant on sale in India, costing Rs. 1,00,820 (ex-showroom, Delhi).
