- The Phoenix 125 was discontinued last year
- This bike could get an all new name
Last week, TVS sent us a creative invite for a launch event that will take place on August 23. While it didn’t reveal anything about this upcoming product, a close look at their past launches and the current product portfolio makes is believe that this will be a 125cc motorcycle.
The company discontinued the Phoenix 125 in April last year, leaving a void in the 125cc motorcycle segment. The 125cc is a 1.7 lakhs monthly market and the Hosur-based company definitely wants to have a share in the segment. The company had to discontinue the Phoenix 125 as the sales were disappointing. The Phoenix 125 wasn’t really a good looking motorcycle nor was it high on performance. But the company might change the graph with this upcoming motorcycle.
Over the last few months, TVS has been strengthening its position in all major segments. First it was the Apache RR 310, followed by the NTorq 125 and then the Apache RTR 160. Now, it looks like the company seeks to focus on the mass market segment with this new 125cc motorcycle.
We will bring you more information on this bike in the next few days. Stay tuned to BikeWale.
