- Ronin scrambler likely to go into production
- Will get suspension with longer travel
- Built on the Ronin platform
TVS had unveiled the Ronin SCR – a scrambler based on the Ronin platform at its Motosoul festival. It looks like the brand is planning to put the bike into actual production.
The Hosur-based company has already applied to register the design of the bike almost a year ago. With such an approach, it is clear that the company has strong intentions to put the bike into production. In fact, at the time of the concept unveiling, a few TVS officials did confirm their intentions to bring the Ronin scrambler to Indian consumers. The response to the concept was quite good, and there’s a high chance the Indian market would see the TVS scrambler in two to three years.
The Ronin SCR was seen with a completely different suspension system – it gets longer travel at both ends. The seat, grab rail and even the body panels were different than the Ronin. To make it look and perform better off-road, the Ronin SCR was equipped with off-road tyres and also raised front fender.
The production model is likely to look like the concept version, but the off-road tyres will be offered as an option. Plus, TVS would offer this motorcycle with better colours and possibly multiple variants to cater to a wide range of buyers. Currently, the Triumph Scrambler 400X is the only scrambler in the affordable segment and TVS would want to bring a tough competitor.
