TVS Motor Company is aiming to regain its third spot in the motorcycles and scooters segment in India, which it once used to hold. The company is bullish about this strategy and plans to achieve it with new launches scheduled for the current financial year.
Recent launches like the Jupiter and the Star City Plus have been a success for the Hosur-based company. And due to the success story of these products, it pushed back the launches of the Scooty Zest, new Victor and Apache. With a great product lineup, it intends to narrow its gap with the biggies like Bajaj Motorcycles, Honda Motorcycles & Scooter India and Hero MotoCorp.
"The company would look to regain its third position in the two-wheeler market backed by new launches. The company intends to launch scooter Zest and bikes Victor and Apache before the end of this fiscal," said Venu Srinivasan, chairman and managing director, TVS Motor Company.
TVS lost the race in the last few years when its ageing motorcycles and scooters didn’t appeal to the Indian consumers due to the additions from its competitors like Honda and Bajaj. But slowly and steadily, the company is getting back in the race, and because of the quality of its products, it is sure to gain a lot of eyeballs.
