The Jupiter has been one of the most successful products for the Hosur-based company. Now in order to eat up more market share, TVS is planning to launch the disc brake variant of the Jupiter next month.
As per Zigwheels, this disc brake variant will sit as a top-end variant and will be called Jupiter ZX. While the Honda Activa has been leading the segment with a great margin, TVS wants to cater to a larger set of audience with this new variant. Instead of the 130mm drum brake at the front, the Jupiter ZX will get a 220mm disc brake at the front, taking the braking power to a new level. Along with this new component, expect the Jupiter to get a new paint scheme and body decals.
Mechanically, the TVS Jupiter won’t get any changes and will continue to be powered by an 110cc single cylinder engine that produces 7bhp and peak torque of 8Nm. While the TVS Jupiter is a value for money scooter, the new ZX version will demand a premium of around Rs 2,500 over it.
