At the Delhi Auto Expo earlier this year, TVS had showcased the new Scooty Zest which is a funkier facelifted version of the current Scooty line-up. The company had revealed that the Scooty Zest will go on sale in the second quarter of this fiscal year and now, latest reports suggest that TVS is planning to launch the 110cc scooter on August 20.
The TVS Scooty Zest has been built on the same platform that currently underpins the Scooty Pep + and the Scooty Streak. It also uses the same 110cc engine air-cooled, single cylinder CVT-I engine which produces 8bhp and 8Nm of torque. The engine is mated to a V-Matic CVT gearbox which has been borrowed from the Wego.
The Scooty Zest also gets some major cosmetic updates. The headlamps, turn indicators and tail lamps now get LEDs. The instrument cluster has been redesigned and gets a back-lit speedometer. At the Delhi Auto Expo, the Scooty Zest sported a sparkling blue colour and we expect the scooter to be launched with other such funky paint schemes.
At the launch event of the new StaR City+, TVS had revealed that the company’s new plan for this year involves strengthening its product range in India. As a part of its strategy, the company also plans to reintroduce the Victor moniker.
The extension of excise duty cut for two wheelers and four wheelers has created a positive sentiment in the Indian automobile market and several manufacturers have plans of launching new products to cash in on the market’s positive outlook.
