- TVS to sell motorcycles and scooters in Europe next year
- Will include a majority of portfolio
- Deal with a major European distributor
TVS Motor Company already had an indirect presence in Europe after it took over Norton Motorcycles and made a deal with BMW to produce its 310cc models and CE-02 electric scooter for India and international markets. But now, the Hosur-based manufacturer has announced its debut for 2024 in Europe after a deal with one of the largest European vehicle distributors.
Now, the full details of the deal and the exact market list in which TVS will be present aren’t clear. However, France is expected to be the first region where TVS begins operations. The company plans to retail both electric and combustion models including the TVS Jupiter 125, Ntorq, Raider 125, iQube S, TVS X, Ronin and its flagship Apache RR 310 and Apache RTR 310. According to TVS, Emil Frey, the distributor, “will take charge of the distribution of TVS products in selected countries, utilising their sales, marketing and service networks”
It is most likely that the products sold to European markets would be the same as the units sold in India, with minor changes to comply with European norms. However, all exports will be done from TVS’ manufacturing units in India itself.
