TVS Motor Company has announced its sales figures for May 2014. The Chennai-based two wheeler maker has revealed that it sold 2,10,293 units in May 2014. In comparison, the brand sold 1,65,151 units during May last year, signifying an impressive growth of 27 per cent.
The company’s total exports grew by 42 per cent with sales increasing from 24,393 units in May 2013 to 34,623 units in May 2014. The good news continues as two wheeler exports registered a growth of 40 per cent with sales increasing from 19,290 units in May 2013 to 27,000 units in May 2014.
TVS has also revealed that the scooter segment is on the rise, with sales growing by 60 per cent increasing from 33,747 units in May 2013 to 53,924 units in May 2014.
TVS currently caters to a range of different segments in the Indian two wheeler industry. The brand has put up a plausible performance in the market with its Apache and Star model series. TVS has even signed a major technology agreement with Germany’s BMW Motorrad, under which it has been revealed that both the companies will be jointly developing a new range of sub-500cc motorcycles for emerging markets like India.
