TVS Motors registered a 15 per cent growth in October 2016 over the corresponding period in 2015.However, despite putting up a good show, the Hosur-based manufacturer had to give up third spot in the Indian two-wheeler industry to Bajaj Auto Ltd.
TVS Motors sold 3.08 lakh two-wheelers in the last month, as compared to 2.64 lakh units in October 2015. Of these 2.72 lakh units were sold in the domestic market, which is 17.6 per cent more than the number recorded in the last year. Export numbers took a hit with the demand dropping by three per cent.
The frequent cosmetic upgrades and introduction of new models have resulted in a consistent growth over the past few months. TVS has also been offering discounts and special offers to attract crowds during the festive season. While the Victor, Apache and Scooty have been returning consistent sales numbers, the Jupiter and XL Super have been the main drivers of the company’s growth.
