- Domestic sales and exports witnessed positive growth
- Total exports grew by 19%
- Production during September 2020 was much higher
TVS Motor Company has reported its sales data for September 2020. The total sales witnessed 14% growth during the month as against August 2020. The company sold 3,27,692 units in September 2020 as against 2,87,398 units in August this year.
The year-on-year performance was marginally better as the Hosur based two-wheeler brand registered sales of 3,27,692 units in September 2020 as against 3,15,796 units in the corresponding month last year.
TVS Motor Company also announced in the press statement that the production during September 2020 was much higher despite the challenges in the supply chain due to COVID-19.
The total two-wheelers sales during the last month stood at 3,13,332 units as against 3,00,793 units in September 2019. The company sold 2,41,762 units in the domestic market in September 2020 as against 2,43,047 units in September 2019.
Motorcycle contributed 1,39,698 units to the total two-wheeler sales in September 2020 as against 1,23,918 units in September 2019. Scooter sales, on the other hand, stood at 1,03,877 units in September 2020 as against 1,18,612 units in September last year.
Exports, too, witnessed positive growth as TVS Motor Company reported 19% improvement in numbers. The company exported 85,163 units in September 2020 as against 71,569 units in September 2019. Two-wheeler exports grew by 24% registering sales of 71,570 units in September 2020 as against 57,746 units in September 2019.
