TVS Motor Company has increased the prices of the Ntorq 125sport scooter for the second time since the launch of its BS6 model. The Hosur-based bike maker has made it dearer by Rs 1,000 now. Following the price revision, the Ntorq 125 BS6 costs Rs 67,885 (drum), 71,885 (front disc) and Rs 74,365 (Race Edition) (All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi).
In spite of receiving multiple price hikes, the TVS Ntorq continues to be one of the best value-for-money scooters available in India. It comes loaded with features such as a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster which pairs with the rider’s smartphone and shows a plethora of data. Furthermore, there’s a charging socket, boot lamp, engine kill switch, a large 22 litre storage space while the Race edition also gets full-LED headlamp along with hazard lamp. Complementing the modern gizmos is a sharp and edgy styling with vibrant colour options.
Powering the Ntorq 125 is a 124.8cc, air-cooled, three-valve engine which churns out 9.1bhp at 7,000rpm and 10.5Nm at 5,500rpm. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels which are suspended by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Stopping power comes from a drum brake at both ends while a front disc is available as an option. The scooter weighs in at 118kg and gets a 5.8 litre fuel tank.
In terms of competition, the TVS Ntorq 125 BS6 goes up against the Honda Grazia, Yamaha Ray ZR 125, Suzuki Burgman Street 125 and Hero Maestro Edge 125.
