TVS Motor Company has added a bit more excitement to its popular Ntorq 125 by launching a Race edition of the scooter. It has been priced at a minor premium over the standard model and we tell you the highlights of the scooter which justify that.
More features
The standard variant gets impressive features such as a Bluetooth-enabled instrument cluster which shows ample of information. However, it misses out on LED lighting. The Hosur-based bikemaker has now introduced that on the Race edition. It sports a unique transformer-like LED DRL, similar to the tail lamp, while the headlamp is also LED now. For an added safety, the Race edition also gets Hazard lamp accompanied by a dedicated switch.
New set of decals
While the design of the Ntorq is already sporty, the new set of decals make it look racier. It features chequered flag graphics on the front apron and side panels which are accompanied by the ‘Race Edition’ logo on the side panels.
Colour options
In order to further distinguish the Race edition, TVS has introduced a new set of three-tone colour options. This includes matte black, metallic black and metallic red shades. On the other hand, the standard model is available in seven different colour schemes including Matte Yellow, Matte White, Matte Red, Metallic Blue, Metallic Grey, Metallic Red and Matte Silver.
Engine and cycle parts
Under the skin, the Ntorq 125 Race edition remains the same as the standard version. It comes powered by a 124.7cc, three-valve, SOHC motor which produces 9.1bhp at 7,500rpm and 10.5Nm at 5,500rpm. Suspension duties are handled by telescopic forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by a disc at the front and drum at the rear. Notably, the standard trim also gets option of drum brakes at both ends.
Pricing
TVS has pegged the Ntorq 125 Race edition at Rs 62,995 which is a premium of Rs 3,000 and Rs 4,123 over the disc and drum variants of the standard model. While the former retails at Rs 59,995, the latter costs Rs 58,872.
