TVS Motor Company has registered a 43 per cent hike in the year-on-year sales of the Ntorq 125 in May 2019. While the company sold 14,695 units of the scooter in May 2018, the figure shot up to 21,010 units in the last month, which is a difference of 6,315 units.
The TVS Ntorq 125 was launched in India in February 2018. The company had clocked sales of 8,309 units in the first month of its launch which has gradually been increasing till now. TVS has majorly targeted the young chunk of audience with the Ntorq 125 by equipping it with several exciting features and a potent 125cc engine. This seems to be working in favour of the Hosur-based bikemaker. Considering the overall scooter sales in the month of May, the Ntorq 125 is the fifth highest-selling scooter in India.
Boasting of a sporty styling, the Ntorq 125 is equipped with an LCD instrument cluster which is Bluetooth-enabled and displays a host of information such as clock, average speed, top speed recorded, lap timer and best 0-60kmph time, besides all the basic information. Powering the scooter is a 124.79cc, carbureted motor which churns out 9.1bhp at 7,500rpm and 10.5Nm at 5,500rpm.
TVS has priced the Ntorq 125 at Rs 58,252 (drum brake) and Rs 59,900 (front disc brake) (both prices are ex-showroom, Delhi). The scooter competes against the Suzuki Access 125, Honda Grazia and the Aprilia SR 125.
