TVS Motor Company's flagship 125cc scooter the TVS Ntorq has registered a 97 per cent growth in sales for February 2019.
The manufacturer sold 16,370 units of the Ntorq last month as compared to 8,309 units sold in the same month last year. Meanwhile, TVS’s highest-selling scooter, the Jupiter, witnessed a 23 per cent decline in sales as it sold 48,688 units in February 2019 as against 63,534 units in the corresponding month last year.
Going by the numbers, the Ntorq now sits under the Hero Destini 125 which sold 24,018 units last month. Another 125cc scooter which has seen a commendable growth in the two-wheeler space is the Suzuki Access 125 which surpassed the TVS Jupiter to become the second highest-selling scooter in India. The rise in sales numbers of the TVS Ntorq could be due to the shift and increase in demand for 125cc scooters. Besides the extra power, this growing segment of 125cc scooters offer the ability to commute longer distances along with additional equipment and features.
